# Midnight Pulp vs Darkroom Streaming

The clearest difference is ads: Darkroom Streaming at none against Midnight Pulp's shown. Darkroom Streaming also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Midnight Pulp's advantage is ratings volume (1.8K vs 1) and review sentiment (49% vs 35%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Midnight Pulp sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Darkroom Streaming sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Darkroom Streaming holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Midnight Pulp has 1.8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Midnight Pulp's written reviews are positive against 35% of Darkroom Streaming's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Midnight Pulp ships an update every 3 months, Darkroom Streaming every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
