# Midnight Pulp vs RiffTrax

The clearest difference is rating: Midnight Pulp at 4.6 against RiffTrax's 4.1. Midnight Pulp also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 30). RiffTrax's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (68% vs 49%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Midnight Pulp sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and RiffTrax sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Midnight Pulp holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Midnight Pulp has 1.8K ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Midnight Pulp's written reviews are positive against 68% of RiffTrax's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Midnight Pulp ships an update every 3 months, RiffTrax every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
