# Backyard Apollo AR vs Explore Mars with Rover

The clearest difference is rating: Backyard Apollo AR at 4.7 against Explore Mars with Rover's 4.0. Backyard Apollo AR also leads on ratings volume (1.5K vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). Explore Mars with Rover's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 70%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Backyard Apollo AR holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backyard Apollo AR has 1.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Backyard Apollo AR's written reviews are positive against 100% of Explore Mars with Rover's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
