# Darktrace vs Proton Pass

The clearest difference is rating: Proton Pass at 4.8 against Darktrace's 3.5. Proton Pass also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 40%) and ratings volume (8.7K vs 30). Darktrace's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proton Pass sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $35.90 per year. Darktrace asks for nothing beyond the download.

Proton Pass holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proton Pass has 8.7K ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 40% of Darktrace's written reviews are positive against 67% of Proton Pass's.

Darktrace ships an update every 2 months, Proton Pass fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
