# PubPass vs Craft Notes

The clearest difference is rating: PubPass at 4.9 against Craft Notes's 4.4. PubPass also leads on ratings volume (1.7K vs 23) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). Craft Notes's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 52%) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PubPass holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PubPass has 1.7K ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of PubPass's written reviews are positive against 60% of Craft Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PubPass ships an update every 3 weeks, Craft Notes every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
