# PubPass vs Tavern DSM

PubPass and Tavern DSM both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Tavern DSM's written reviews are positive against 52% of PubPass's. PubPass's advantage is ratings volume (1.8K vs 3). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for PubPass against 5.0 for Tavern DSM. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PubPass has 1.8K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 52% of PubPass's written reviews are positive against 100% of Tavern DSM's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
