# Empass vs Prep GMAT

The clearest difference is update cadence: Prep GMAT at every 3 weeks against Empass's every 5 months. Empass's advantage is iOS requirement (12.3 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Empass sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and Prep GMAT sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Empass ships an update every 5 months, Prep GMAT every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 14, 2026 respectively.
