# Empass vs Learn Chinese Lang

The clearest difference is update cadence: Empass at every 5 months against Learn Chinese Lang's every 16 months. Empass also leads on iOS requirement (12.3 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Empass sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and Learn Chinese Lang sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
