# MySteps vs Steps App

The clearest difference is ads: Steps App at none against MySteps's shown. Steps App also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). MySteps's advantage is ratings volume (45K vs 8). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MySteps sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Steps App sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Steps App holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MySteps has 45K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
