# EZ Scan® 2 vs Madison Area YMCA

EZ Scan® 2 and Madison Area YMCA both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 98% of Madison Area YMCA's written reviews are positive against 22% of EZ Scan® 2's. Madison Area YMCA also leads on ratings volume (302 vs 2). EZ Scan® 2's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EZ Scan® 2 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Madison Area YMCA has 302 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of EZ Scan® 2's written reviews are positive against 98% of Madison Area YMCA's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EZ Scan® 2 ships an update every 2 months, Madison Area YMCA every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
