# TOR Browser vs miTrail

The clearest difference is rating: TOR Browser at 4.5 against miTrail's 3.5. TOR Browser also leads on ratings volume (13K vs 2). miTrail's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 31%) and in-app purchases (none vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TOR Browser sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days. miTrail asks for nothing beyond the download.

TOR Browser holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TOR Browser has 13K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of TOR Browser's written reviews are positive against 67% of miTrail's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TOR Browser ships an update every 3 weeks, miTrail every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
