# TOR Browser vs TV

The clearest difference is rating: TOR Browser at 4.5 against TV's 1.0. TOR Browser also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 17 months) and ratings volume (14K vs 1). TV's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TOR Browser sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days. TV asks for nothing beyond the download.

TOR Browser holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TOR Browser has 14K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TOR Browser ships an update every 3 weeks, TV every 17 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
