# Thermometer vs Panda Weather

The clearest difference is rating: Panda Weather at 4.6 against Thermometer's 3.7. Thermometer's advantage is iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Thermometer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Panda Weather sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Panda Weather holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 132 and 56 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Thermometer's written reviews are positive against 44% of Panda Weather's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Thermometer ships an update monthly, Panda Weather every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
