# calif vs YZ

The clearest difference is review sentiment: YZ at 48% against calif's 16%. YZ also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.7) and ratings volume (35 vs 6). calif's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

YZ holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: YZ has 35 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 16% of calif's written reviews are positive against 48% of YZ's.

calif ships an update monthly, YZ every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
