# SkyCandy vs Solstice

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Solstice at 85% against SkyCandy's 16%. Solstice also leads on ratings volume (80 vs 2) and device support (5 vs 2). SkyCandy's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SkyCandy sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Solstice sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SkyCandy holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Solstice has 80 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 16% of SkyCandy's written reviews are positive against 85% of Solstice's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SkyCandy ships an update monthly, Solstice every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
