# MASC vs Andar

The clearest difference is monetization model: MASC at free against Andar's free with in-app purchases. Andar's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 10) and iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for MASC against 4.9 for Andar. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Andar has 1.2K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 83% of MASC's written reviews are positive against 82% of Andar's.

MASC ships an update every 6 weeks, Andar monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
