# Photo Censor vs BetaPixels

The clearest difference is rating: Photo Censor at 4.0 against BetaPixels's 1.0. Photo Censor also leads on ratings volume (115 vs 2) and review sentiment (14% vs 0%). BetaPixels's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Photo Censor sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and BetaPixels sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Photo Censor holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Photo Censor has 115 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 14% of Photo Censor's written reviews are positive against 0% of BetaPixels's.

Photo Censor ships an update every 2 months, BetaPixels every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
