# Pomodoro vs Pomodoro Focus Timer

Pomodoro and Pomodoro Focus Timer both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 90% of Pomodoro Focus Timer's written reviews are positive against 50% of Pomodoro's. Pomodoro Focus Timer also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs monthly). Pomodoro's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 194) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pomodoro sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Pomodoro Focus Timer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Pomodoro against 4.8 for Pomodoro Focus Timer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pomodoro has 11K ratings behind it against 194, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of Pomodoro's written reviews are positive against 90% of Pomodoro Focus Timer's.

Pomodoro ships an update monthly, Pomodoro Focus Timer every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
