# PhiGolf vs Ace Trace

The clearest difference is rating: Ace Trace at 4.3 against PhiGolf's 2.6. Ace Trace also leads on review sentiment (51% vs 24%) and chart position (#118 vs unranked). PhiGolf's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PhiGolf sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.90 per month and Ace Trace sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ace Trace holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ace Trace has 2K ratings behind it against 243, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 24% of PhiGolf's written reviews are positive against 51% of Ace Trace's.

PhiGolf ships an update weekly, Ace Trace every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
