# Smart Logbook vs ProvenFlight

The clearest difference is update cadence: ProvenFlight at every 2 days against Smart Logbook's every 3 months. ProvenFlight also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Smart Logbook's advantage is ratings volume (153 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Logbook sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and ProvenFlight sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $129.00 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ProvenFlight holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Logbook has 153 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Smart Logbook ships an update every 3 months, ProvenFlight every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
