# Storage Genie vs StorageUnlocked

The clearest difference is update cadence: Storage Genie at every 4 weeks against StorageUnlocked's every 23 months. Storage Genie also leads on ratings volume (3.8K vs 79). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Storage Genie holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Storage Genie has 3.8K ratings behind it against 79, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of Storage Genie's written reviews are positive against 31% of StorageUnlocked's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Storage Genie ships an update every 4 weeks, StorageUnlocked every 23 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
