# Folio vs e

The clearest difference is ads: e at none against Folio's shown. e also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Folio's advantage is ratings volume (6.9K vs 2) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

e holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Folio has 6.9K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Folio ships an update every 8 days, e every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
