# Brushout vs Toothbrush Timer

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Brushout at 4.8K against Toothbrush Timer's 1. Toothbrush Timer's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brushout sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Toothbrush Timer sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Toothbrush Timer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brushout has 4.8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Brushout ships an update every 2 weeks, Toothbrush Timer every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
