# JDoe vs TextPort

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: JDoe at none against TextPort's 26. JDoe also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.0). TextPort's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 128). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TextPort sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. JDoe asks for nothing beyond the download.

JDoe holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TextPort has 1.4K ratings behind it against 128, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of JDoe's written reviews are positive against 60% of TextPort's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

JDoe ships an update fortnightly, TextPort every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
