# SnapCalc vs Algebra Tutor

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Algebra Tutor at 100% against SnapCalc's 25%. Algebra Tutor also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). SnapCalc's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (41K vs 3). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SnapCalc sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Algebra Tutor sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SnapCalc holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SnapCalc has 41K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of SnapCalc's written reviews are positive against 100% of Algebra Tutor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
