# IMDbPro vs EP SMART Check

The clearest difference is rating: IMDbPro at 4.6 against EP SMART Check's 1.5. IMDbPro also leads on ratings volume (2.7K vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). EP SMART Check's advantage is monetization model (free vs subscription). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

IMDbPro holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IMDbPro has 2.7K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

IMDbPro ships an update every 2 weeks, EP SMART Check every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
