# IMDbPro vs AFM26

The clearest difference is monetization model: AFM26 at free against IMDbPro's subscription. AFM26 also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 20%). IMDbPro's advantage is ratings volume (2.7K vs 6) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

IMDbPro holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IMDbPro has 2.7K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of IMDbPro's written reviews are positive against 50% of AFM26's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

IMDbPro ships an update every 9 days, AFM26 every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
