# TonkBit vs Tonk Multiplayer

The clearest difference is rating: Tonk Multiplayer at 4.0 against TonkBit's 1.0. Tonk Multiplayer also leads on ratings volume (23 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TonkBit sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Tonk Multiplayer sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tonk Multiplayer holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tonk Multiplayer has 23 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TonkBit ships an update every 12 months, Tonk Multiplayer every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
