# SS Writer vs Output

The clearest difference is ads: Output at none against SS Writer's shown. SS Writer's advantage is iOS requirement (17.6 vs 26.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SS Writer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Output sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
