# Birthday Notation vs InPlanner

The clearest difference is ads: Birthday Notation at none against InPlanner's shown. Birthday Notation also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 14.0). InPlanner's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Birthday Notation sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and InPlanner sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Birthday Notation ships an update monthly, InPlanner fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
