# Freedom vs Purity

The clearest difference is monetization model: Purity at free with in-app purchases against Freedom's subscription. Purity also leads on review sentiment (74% vs 64%). Freedom's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (6K vs 895). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Freedom sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Purity sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Purity holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Freedom has 6K ratings behind it against 895, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 64% of Freedom's written reviews are positive against 74% of Purity's.

Freedom ships an update every 2 weeks, Purity every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
