# Freedom vs VantaFocus

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Freedom at 64% against VantaFocus's 0%. Freedom also leads on rating (4.4 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (6K vs 1). VantaFocus's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Freedom sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and VantaFocus sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Freedom holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Freedom has 6K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 64% of Freedom's written reviews are positive against 0% of VantaFocus's.

Freedom ships an update every 2 weeks, VantaFocus monthly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
