# Freedom vs Focused

The clearest difference is rating: Focused at 5.0 against Freedom's 4.4. Focused also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription). Freedom's advantage is ratings volume (6K vs 2) and chart position (#185 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Freedom sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Focused sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Focused holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Freedom has 6K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Freedom ships an update every 2 weeks, Focused weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
