# Letstalk IM vs LaoApp

The clearest difference is rating: Letstalk IM at 3.9 against LaoApp's 2.8. Letstalk IM also leads on ratings volume (101 vs 18) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). LaoApp's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Letstalk IM holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Letstalk IM has 101 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of Letstalk IM's written reviews are positive against 37% of LaoApp's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Letstalk IM ships an update fortnightly, LaoApp weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
