# 5K Run vs Run 5K

The clearest difference is update cadence: 5K Run at every 10 days against Run 5K's every 9 months. 5K Run also leads on ratings volume (2.2K vs 7). Run 5K's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 5K Run sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Run 5K sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Run 5K holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 5K Run has 2.2K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

5K Run ships an update every 10 days, Run 5K every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
