# Tape Measure™ vs Unit Convert

Tape Measure™ and Unit Convert both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Unit Convert's written reviews are positive against 38% of Tape Measure™'s. Unit Convert also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium). Tape Measure™'s advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (90K vs 15). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tape Measure™ sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Unit Convert sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Unit Convert holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tape Measure™ has 90K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 38% of Tape Measure™'s written reviews are positive against 100% of Unit Convert's.

Tape Measure™ ships an update every 5 days, Unit Convert every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
