# Small Talk vs SmartMe

Small Talk and SmartMe both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 81% of Small Talk's written reviews are positive against 46% of SmartMe's. Small Talk also leads on ads (none vs shown). SmartMe's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (3.6K vs 467). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Small Talk sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and SmartMe sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Small Talk against 4.8 for SmartMe. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartMe has 3.6K ratings behind it against 467, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 81% of Small Talk's written reviews are positive against 46% of SmartMe's.

Small Talk ships an update every 4 months, SmartMe every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
