# SBMTD BusTracker vs GOVCbus

The clearest difference is update cadence: GOVCbus at every 5 months against SBMTD BusTracker's every 34 months. SBMTD BusTracker's advantage is review sentiment (25% vs 14%) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16.4). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GOVCbus holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 2.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 32 and 26 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of SBMTD BusTracker's written reviews are positive against 14% of GOVCbus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SBMTD BusTracker ships an update every 34 months, GOVCbus every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
