# U vs FileNook

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: U at none against FileNook's 3. U also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). FileNook's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FileNook sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. U asks for nothing beyond the download.

U holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FileNook has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

U ships an update fortnightly, FileNook every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
