# Kidsout vs A

The clearest difference is rating: Kidsout at 4.5 against A's 2.7. Kidsout also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (46 vs 3). A's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Kidsout holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kidsout has 46 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Kidsout's written reviews are positive against 56% of A's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Kidsout ships an update fortnightly, A every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
