# The Mall Cineplex vs TapTap

The clearest difference is rating: TapTap at 4.7 against The Mall Cineplex's 3.9. TapTap also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (10K vs 25). The Mall Cineplex's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and review sentiment (60% vs 52%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TapTap sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. The Mall Cineplex asks for nothing beyond the download.

TapTap holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TapTap has 10K ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of The Mall Cineplex's written reviews are positive against 52% of TapTap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Mall Cineplex ships an update every 12 months, TapTap every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
