# WholeReader, Immersive Reading vs EReader

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: WholeReader, Immersive Reading at none against EReader's 11. EReader's advantage is ratings volume (238 vs 3) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EReader sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. WholeReader, Immersive Reading asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for WholeReader, Immersive Reading against 4.8 for EReader. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EReader has 238 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
