# MissionScanner vs Peekage

The clearest difference is ads: MissionScanner at none against Peekage's shown. MissionScanner also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Peekage's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (2.3K vs 156). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Peekage holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Peekage has 2.3K ratings behind it against 156, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of MissionScanner's written reviews are positive against 57% of Peekage's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MissionScanner ships an update every 6 weeks, Peekage every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
