# Second Texting Number vs Referred

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Referred at none against Second Texting Number's 10. Referred also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks). Second Texting Number's advantage is ratings volume (66K vs 33) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Second Texting Number sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Referred asks for nothing beyond the download.

Second Texting Number holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Second Texting Number has 66K ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of Second Texting Number's written reviews are positive against 82% of Referred's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Second Texting Number ships an update every 3 weeks, Referred every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
