# Thumsters vs Storybutton

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Thumsters at 873 against Storybutton's 14. Thumsters also leads on device support (4 vs 1). Storybutton's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Thumsters sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Storybutton sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Thumsters against 4.6 for Storybutton. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Thumsters has 873 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Thumsters ships an update fortnightly, Storybutton weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
