# Focos vs Protake

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Focos at 51K against Protake's 1.3K. Focos also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focos sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Protake sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Focos holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focos has 51K ratings behind it against 1.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 51% of Focos's written reviews are positive against 41% of Protake's.

Focos ships an update every 2 weeks, Protake every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
