# WEGscan vs Remote

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: WEGscan at none against Remote's 6. WEGscan also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). Remote's advantage is review sentiment (68% vs 50%) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Remote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 3 months. WEGscan asks for nothing beyond the download.

WEGscan holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Remote has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of WEGscan's written reviews are positive against 68% of Remote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WEGscan ships an update monthly, Remote every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
