# RIDGID Thermal vs Thermography Camera

The clearest difference is rating: Thermography Camera at 3.9 against RIDGID Thermal's 1.8. Thermography Camera also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months) and device support (3 vs 1). RIDGID Thermal's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (26% vs 13%). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Thermography Camera holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RIDGID Thermal has 128 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of RIDGID Thermal's written reviews are positive against 13% of Thermography Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RIDGID Thermal ships an update every 9 months, Thermography Camera every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
