# SymCalc+ vs Science

The clearest difference is price: Science at $1.99 against SymCalc+'s $9.99. Science also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). SymCalc+'s advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 44 months) and ratings volume (91 vs 1). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

SymCalc+ costs $9.99 and Science $1.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Science holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SymCalc+ has 91 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SymCalc+ ships an update every 5 weeks, Science every 44 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
