# Superbars Pro vs LockWidget

The clearest difference is monetization model: Superbars Pro at free with in-app purchases against LockWidget's subscription. Superbars Pro also leads on ads (none vs shown). LockWidget's advantage is ratings volume (28K vs 83) and review sentiment (56% vs 33%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Superbars Pro sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and LockWidget sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LockWidget holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LockWidget has 28K ratings behind it against 83, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of Superbars Pro's written reviews are positive against 56% of LockWidget's.

Superbars Pro ships an update every 3 weeks, LockWidget fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
